Villa Marea Alta. Puerto Vallarta's Conchas Chinas "colony", where the Sierra Mountains plinge into the cool serenity of the Bay of Banderas, is often called the "jewel of Vallarta". This gorgeous setting is an international destination for those who seek magnificant retreatsby the sea. In Conchas Chinas, million dollar villas sparkle in the sun like precious stones.
Renouned architect Francisco Hanhausen of Mexico City designed Villa Maera Alta, one of the newest gems in Conchas Chinas. Maera Alta silts on a terraced hillside that rises above a semi-private beach. The home is an "environmental sculpture" - a living work of art. The home incorporates design elements that both soothe and stimulate the senses.
Villa Marea Alta consists of over 6,000 square feet of living space on three cascading levels (the main floor and entry level is on the top floor level). In total, the home offers five bedrooms, five and a half baths, and staff quarters with a seperate entrance and fully equiped laundry room.
Villa Marea Alta's interior combines material comforts, optimum efficiency and exquisite taste in design. There is no shyness in the use of color - a room my be French blue, a bathroom deep green or bright yellow, and an armoire turquoise - visual delights and surprises abound.
On the main floor a living room, fully equiped gourmet kitchen, half bath, pituresque terrace, and an infinity pool. All rooms are sophisticated and very comfortably furnished.
Furnishings are an eclectic mix of Mexican, Central A,erican and Indonesian pieces. Colorful textiless from Guatemala, pottery from Michoacan, brass mirors, and antique wardrobes from San Miguel de Allende have all found their place in the villa.
On the second level: Two master suites (north and south) and a third spacios bedroom - each with king size beds and brivate bath.
A smaller fourth bedroom and bath is currently used as an office and is not available for rentals.
Materials and appointments were selected for their beauty, low maintenance and suitability to the climate of Puerto Vallarta.
Some of these include copper gutters, stainless-steel kitchen appliances, limestone and honed-marvle kitchen counter tops, bronze Baldwin doorknobs, custom-made hardware on antique doors and cabinets, absolutely silent ar conditioning systems in all bedrooms and kitchens, and a state of the art reverse osmosis water purification syatem that supplies water to the willa infinity pool.
